Chris, Your page being split into four is really reminiscent of pages of the book of Kells. Specificially, this page: http://deaditor.com/img/content/27/book_of_kells.jpg yours seems like an updated version of that type of layout.
Your embellished capital looks great! It has a lot of designs similar to those found in Folio 34r of the Book of Kells. Additionally your division of the carpet page to depict the tree transformation reminds me of the Beautus pages. Although you don't use color blocks to separate each "scene", you still see repetition (of color and image) and can see that you were trying to tell a story on just one page.
The colors of your manuscript were great and really reflecting pages we discussed in class. The intricate knotwork with the division of the carpet page reminded me a lot of the 4 evangelists and how they were represented in the book of Kells. This is awesome. It is very much inspired by the Book of Kells, a lot of the spiral work is reminiscent of the Chi Rho page. As others have said, the division of your carpet page is like the evangelists page in the Book of Kells. I also like that you incorporated the diminuendo effect because I'm not sure anyone else really did that. Great job!
Chris, I love your use of symbols to tell a story on the carpet page. This is a new (awesome) spin on the stories told in the book of kells and the book of durrow by human figures. Your colors are spot-on. They look just like the primary color palate used int he book of Kells. GREAT line work in illustrator! I am inspired!
I think your carpet page successfully incorporates the process of storytelling. I LOVE the tree imagery! Not only was it reminiscent of the Book of Kells, but the breakup of the area into four sections was definitely inspired by the historical treatment of the four gospels. The whole piece has a wonderful illustrative style and I think it reads very well.
I really, really like yours a lot. It has a very hand done feel even though it was done digitally, and your capital and carpet page are just awesome. The concept is really strong and carries through the whole thing beautifully, and the composition of your carpet page is very similar to a lot of the Celtic manuscript pages I looked at. Your research is very apparent, the whole thing just screams Celtic. :)

I didn't realize just how detailed it was until I could look at it up close, and I must say, the knot work in the borders is absolutely phenomenal. I thought your capital was fantastic, also.
